Outsourcing Director

About the role

The Outsourcing Director will lead client relationships and drive the growth of a Chartered Accountants practice in Guildford. You will combine technical accountancy work with strategic oversight, mentoring junior staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for a portfolio of clients, providing proactive tax planning, compliance and business‑strategy advice.
• Review and sign off work prepared by junior staff, including accounts, VAT returns and tax computations.
• Mentor and train junior team members in technical and professional development.
• Prepare or support year‑end accounts, corporation tax returns and management accounts.
• Manage workflow, deadlines and resource planning to meet client expectations.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities and contribute to new business development.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UK tax and accounting legislation.
• Represent the firm at meetings, networking events and client referrals.
• Ensure compliance with AML, GDPR and other regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• ACA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong background in UK accounting practice.
• Significant experience in outsourcing or practice accounting, ready to step into a director‑level role.
• Ambitious, driven and able to balance technical work with business development.
