About the role

Join our dedicated Paediatric Emergency Nursing (PEN) team and make a real difference in children's lives. As a Band 5/6 Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, life-saving emergency care within a fast-paced and rewarding clinical environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to children and young people at the Emergency Care Centre (ECC) across Scunthorpe General and Diana Princess of Wales Hospitals.
  • Act as a vital clinical link between the ECC and the Paediatric Assessment Units (PAU).
  • Participate in the 'flying squad' model to provide flexible, high-level support across different clinical areas.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient journeys.
  • Contribute to the 24/7 continuous care model, ensuring safety and excellence in paediatric emergency services.

Candidate Profile

  • Registered Nurse with a specialist focus or experience in Paediatrics.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, acute emergency settings.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Flexibility to work shifts (11.5-hour shifts) within the 07:00 to 23:00 window.
