Paralegal – French Speaker (Legal Consultant)

About the role

DRS is seeking a French‑speaking Paralegal to join its Legal Consultant team in Newcastle. You will support the negotiation and execution of commercial contracts for financial institutions, working alongside senior lawyers and industry experts.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, amend and execute contracts such as ISDA agreements, CSAs, GMSLAs, GMRAs, NDAs and Terms of Business.
• Maintain negotiation databases, track communications and ensure timely escalations.
• Provide reporting and information to internal DRS stakeholders and clients.
• Participate in conference calls and face‑to‑face meetings with clients and counterparties.
• Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments in derivatives law through research and company learning resources.

Required profile

• At least a 2:1 undergraduate degree in Law or an equivalent qualification.
• Legal conversion qualification (GDL or CPE) is desirable if the degree is in another discipline.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and clients.
