Part Time Finance Director / Head of Finance

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Finance Director to provide senior financial leadership for a not‑for‑profit organisation serving the local community. Reporting to the CEO, you will replace the interim Finance Director and bring commercial insight, particularly within the renewable‑energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and support the Financial Controller in day‑to‑day finance operations.
• Lead strategic financial planning with the Managing Director, identifying risks, opportunities and resilience.
• Conduct investment appraisals, providing commercial challenge for major decisions.
• Develop and manage funding strategies, including project finance structuring.
• Provide board and committee assurance and senior review of financial outputs.
• Partner with wider business teams to embed financial best practice.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance or Commercial Director.
• Track record advising senior leadership and boards on financial matters.
• Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting within a renewable‑energy or energy business.

Required skills

• Xero (or similar cloud‑based accounting software)
