Part-time Glaucoma Doctor (Staff Grade) – North London

About the role

Optegra Eye Healthcare is seeking a part-time Staff Grade Glaucoma Doctor to join its NHS medical glaucoma service in North London. The role is 2 days per week (Wednesdays and Fridays) and involves both clinical and surgical responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing or undiagnosed glaucoma and other ocular conditions.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), Volk lens measurements, central corneal thickness (CCT) and gonioscopy.
• Develop and implement management plans for glaucoma referrals, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive treatment.
• Participate in team meetings, service development initiatives and maintain accurate patient records in line with regulations.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognised university.
• Valid GMC registration with a licence to practise in the UK.
• Relevant experience in glaucoma diagnosis, management and surgical assistance.
