About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Practitioner to join our busy Urgent Care Centre (UCC) at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. Working in a modern central London hospital, you will deliver acute medicine in a fast‑paced environment while supporting a charitable mission that funds an on‑site hospice.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality clinical care in line with hospital and UCC policies.
  • Assess and manage urgent and acute presentations, including minor injuries, acute illness and early emergency cases.
  • Lead or support paediatric resuscitation and emergency response when required.
  • Mentor and support nursing colleagues on each shift.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation.
  • Participate in audits, service‑improvement projects and governance initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of patient‑centred care, safety and continuous learning.

Required profile

  • GMC registration with a licence to practise and inclusion on the GP Register.
  • Experience in General Practice, Urgent Care, Minor Illness or A&E.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to CPD and ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent communication and a patient‑focused approach.

Required skills

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) certification.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
