Part-time Lecturer – English for Speakers of Other Languages

About the role

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is seeking enthusiastic part‑time lecturers to deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses to adult learners. Positions are available at the Newcastle centre (0.5 FTE, 18.5 hours per week) and the Stafford centre (3 hours on Tuesday evenings).

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess ESOL lessons for qualification and non‑qualification courses.
• Develop engaging learning materials and adapt content to meet diverse learner needs.
• Promote ESOL provision through open days, taster sessions and liaison with local employers.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress and contribute to quality assurance processes.
• Collaborate with the Adult Education team to enhance the overall learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified with a Level 5 University specialism in ESOL (or equivalent).
• ESOL teaching certification such as RSA or CELTA.
• Teaching qualification at Level 5 (e.g., DTLLS or equivalent).
• Experience teaching academic English to adult learners.
• Enthusiastic, self‑motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team.
