Part Time Standalone HR Manager

About the role

This part‑time, standalone HR Manager position is based in St Albans and supports a small healthcare organisation. You will own the full employee lifecycle, balancing strategic HR initiatives with day‑to‑day operational tasks while enjoying a flexible 25‑30 hour work week.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all HR operations and ensure compliance with UK employment law.
• Develop, adapt and implement HR policies and procedures tailored to the business.
• Provide expert advice on employee relations and manage related issues.
• Lead recruitment activities, from job posting through interviewing and onboarding.
• Administer employee benefits and maintain accurate HR records.
• Manage performance reviews, employee development and succession planning.
• Ensure payroll and HR systems are accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Support organisational change and contribute to strategic HR planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a standalone HR role within the healthcare sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and independent working abilities.
• Experience across recruitment, employee relations and performance management.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
