Part‑time Dispensing Optician – 3‑4 days/week

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Dispensing Optician to join our independent practice in Sidcup. The role involves providing personalised eye care, conducting 45‑minute examinations and dispensing spectacles and contact lenses. You will work Monday, Tuesday and Saturday with the option to add a fourth day.

Key responsibilities

• Work within a supportive and collaborative team.
• Conduct 45‑minute eye examinations, allowing time to understand each patient’s needs.
• Use modern diagnostic equipment and the latest optical technology.
• Provide expert advice on frames, lenses and suitable optical solutions.
• Dispense, fit and adjust a wide range of spectacles.
• Support patients with contact‑lens handling where required.
• Deliver a high standard of service throughout every stage of the patient journey.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Dispensing Optician with FBDO qualification.
• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Previous experience working as a Dispensing Optician.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Confident advising on frames, lenses and suitable optical solutions.
• Patient‑focused with high standards of service.
• Enjoys working as part of a close‑knit team.
