Part‑time HE Counselling Lecturer (Evenings)

About the role

The Supply Register, on behalf of Newcastle College, is seeking an experienced Higher Education Counselling Lecturer for a part‑time evening contract. The role starts in September and will continue until a permanent appointment is made.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive counselling lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
• Create high‑quality learning resources to support student success.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Offer tutorials, academic guidance and support to students throughout the semester.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learner experience.
• Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and health & safety standards.

Required profile

• A relevant qualification in Counselling or a related discipline.
• Recent industry experience within the counselling profession.
• Experience teaching in Higher Education or Further Education (desirable).
• Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Passion for supporting learners to achieve their potential.
