Part‑time Head of Finance – 3 days/week

About the role

We are partnering with an established, growing business in Bournemouth that needs a senior finance leader on a part‑time basis (three days a week). The role sits on the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Managing Directors, and focuses on strategic finance rather than day‑to‑day processing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and commercial oversight for the finance function.
• Review and sign‑off monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance and regulatory compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term business planning.
• Mentor and develop an experienced finance team.
• Lead year‑end, audit and statutory reporting processes.
• Drive improvements in systems, reporting and finance processes.
• Partner with the senior leadership team to inform key business decisions.

Required profile

• Current or recent experience as Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Finance Director.
• Strong technical finance knowledge and commercial awareness.
• Comfortable reviewing financial reports and influencing strategic decisions.
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Proven leadership experience within a finance function.
• Collaborative approach with confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
