Part‑time Science Teacher (KS3‑KS4 Chemistry) – Greenwich

About the role

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a supportive secondary PRU in Greenwich on a part‑time basis. The position starts in September and runs initially until July 2027, with the possibility of extension. You will primarily teach Chemistry to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver dynamic Science lessons for KS3 and KS4, focusing on Chemistry.
• Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Motivate, challenge and support students to achieve their best.
• Uphold high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) in Science or Chemistry.
• Recent experience teaching Science at KS3/KS4 level.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Proactive, reliable and professional attitude.
• Enhanced DBS registration on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills

• Subject knowledge in Chemistry.
• Lesson planning and delivery for secondary pupils.
• Classroom management techniques.
