Pastoral Support Officer – Boys' Upper School

About the role

The Pastoral Support Officer will work within the Boys' Upper School of the Hasmonean Multi‑Academy Trust, helping students achieve high standards of behaviour, attendance and wellbeing. You will be a key member of the pastoral team, contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support behaviour management and maintain high standards across the school.
• Manage the Reflection Room and mentor students to improve behaviour and engagement.
• Arrange and supervise after‑school detentions and monitor attendance at behavioural interventions.
• Assist with attendance and punctuality monitoring and implement appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with Year Leaders, Form Tutors, Student Services and other colleagues to support students effectively.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers through regular communication.
• Contribute to safeguarding duties and the wider Inclusion Strategy covering Behaviour, Attendance, Safeguarding and SEND (BASS).
