Patient and Public Involvement & Communications Lead

About the role

The Clinical Research Facility at the Royal London Hospital is seeking a Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) and Communications Lead. You will shape the strategy for community involvement, support the Community Advisory Group, and ensure the facility reflects the diversity of the populations it serves.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver public involvement and engagement activities across the CRF.
• Support the Community Advisory Group and advise on inclusive research practices.
• Identify and produce case studies, podcasts, videos and news articles for internal and external audiences.
• Manage CRF content on the website, intranet and social media, ensuring consistent branding.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on the impact and diversity of PPIE activities.
• Prepare reports, presentations and summaries for reviews, training sessions and open days.

Required profile

• Proven experience in public involvement or engagement, preferably within healthcare or research.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust among diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organisational abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Confidence to represent the CRF at local and national levels.

Required skills

• Experience producing high‑quality communications and presentations in accessible language.
• Ability to manage digital content across website, intranet and social media platforms.
• Competence in monitoring, evaluating and reporting on engagement activities.
