Patient Care Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join a busy healthcare organisation in Brighton & Hove. The role involves being the first point of contact for patients, delivering excellent customer service and supporting the smooth operation of appointments and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients and respond to enquiries professionally.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and handle patient queries.
• Book, amend and cancel patient appointments and maintain the appointment system.
• Signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service.
• Enter and update patient information using EMIS Web.
• Process emails, correspondence and patient registrations.
• Support clinical and administrative colleagues with day‑to‑day tasks.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records.

Required profile

• Previous experience using EMIS Web (essential).
• Background in a GP practice or other healthcare setting.
• Strong administration and IT skills.
• Professional and confident telephone manner.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Organised, reliable and able to work under pressure.
• Available to work every Monday and Friday.
• Current DBS certificate is advantageous.
