Patient Pathway Administrator

About the role

The Patient Pathway Administrator provides primary administrative support to consultants and clinicians within the Trauma Unit at Horton General Hospital. This role ensures smooth patient journeys by managing appointments, correspondence, and waiting lists, contributing to high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Book follow‑up appointments and manage waiting lists in line with Elective Access Policy and RTT targets.
• Validate patient pathways and ensure accurate coding of episodes.
• Communicate appointment and admission information to patients, carers, and interpreters.
• Handle telephone enquiries promptly and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Support the Team Leader, Assistant Service Manager and Service Manager with patient queries and complaints.
• Liaise with Trauma Coordinators to ensure patient notes are available.
• Contribute to service development projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrates high levels of customer care and acts as an ambassador for the Trust.
• Maintains effective working relationships with clinical, nursing and administrative staff.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure while safeguarding patient data.
• Proactive in supporting team leaders and managers in resolving issues.
