Payroll Administrator

About the role

We are an independent accountancy firm in Eastbourne looking for a Payroll Administrator to take ownership of end‑to‑end payroll processing. You will work directly with a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering accurate payroll services from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Run up to 150 client payrolls of varying sizes and complexities.
• Process starters, leavers, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP) and pension auto‑enrolment.
• Handle deductions, year‑end processes and calculate holiday entitlement and pay.
• Liaise directly with clients to gather information, provide advice and resolve queries.
• Prepare and submit BACS payments, pension enrolment forms and all required HMRC filings.

Required profile

• Confident in processing full payroll cycles and auto‑enrolment.
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients and delivering clear advice.
• Organised, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• Sage Payroll (experience preferred but not essential).

What we offer

• Salary between £28,000 and £31,000, dependent on experience.
• Flexi‑time with core hours 10:00‑12:30 and 14:30‑16:30; flexible start/end between 08:00‑18:30.
