Payroll Advisor

About the role

We are seeking a Payroll Advisor to join a fast‑growing payroll bureau in Manchester. You will act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, delivering accurate, commercially‑aware payroll advice and ensuring compliance with UK legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on payroll policies, procedures and UK tax legislation via phone and case management systems.
• Own client cases from initiation to resolution within agreed service levels, documenting all activity in the CRM.
• Prepare clear supporting documentation and deliver training sessions to maximise client use of the payroll technology.
• Assist clients with payroll audits, compliance reviews and best‑practice recommendations.
• Monitor legislative changes and proactively communicate relevant updates to clients.

Required profile

• Solid experience in payroll, preferably within a bureau or advisory environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and tax regulations.
• Client‑first mindset with excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and build relationships across multiple industries.
• Familiarity with third‑party payment schedules and client‑specific reporting requirements.
