Payroll Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Payroll Manager to lead the delivery of an accurate, timely and compliant payroll service for over 1,000 colleagues in London. You will act as the in‑house payroll specialist, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and HMRC requirements while overseeing our ResourceLink system.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for a large, multi‑pension scheme workforce.
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, HMRC, PAYE, P11D and year‑end reporting.
• Own and configure the Zellis ResourceLink system, maintaining pay elements, pension schemes and workflows.
• Oversee system updates, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead, develop and coordinate the daily activities of the Payroll team.
• Provide clear communication of payroll and pension matters to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant payroll qualification such as CIPP or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of UK payroll experience, including large and complex payrolls.
• Strong knowledge of HMRC requirements, PAYE processes, P11D reporting and pension regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

• Advanced Excel skills – VLOOKUP, pivot tables and handling large data sets.
