About the role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Projects Manager to lead a national payroll transformation for a large, complex organisation based in Manchester. You will own the project from inception through to business‑as‑usual, ensuring timelines, data quality and compliance are met.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a multi‑phase payroll transformation programme across the enterprise.
- Develop and manage the project roadmap, gathering and analysing data to inform decisions.
- Ensure payroll compliance and implement robust controls during the transition.
- Allocate resources and plan workforce requirements to meet project milestones.
- Shape an effective payroll operating model and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a customer‑centric culture throughout the project lifecycle.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing large‑scale payroll or HR transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, controls and best practices.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress clearly.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
