Pensions Calculations Actuary

About the role

We are seeking a Pensions Calculations Actuary to join a specialist onboarding team for a leading provider in the pension risk transfer market. This technical, project‑focused position will involve deep expertise in defined benefit (DB) pension calculations and close collaboration with operations and client services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on complex DB pension calculations.
• Review and produce member quotations and benefit calculations.
• Act as subject‑matter expert on DB scheme structures and legislation.
• Lead process‑improvement and operational enhancement projects.
• Support, coach and develop junior team members.
• Work closely with stakeholders across pensions operations and client services.

Required profile

• Qualified actuary.
• Strong DB pensions experience, preferably with administration or calculations background.
• Detailed understanding of DB pension scheme benefits and regulations.
• Experience handling complex member calculations and technical queries.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in a technical leadership capacity.
