People Operations Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a People Operations Specialist to become the operational heartbeat of our People Team, overseeing the employee lifecycle and creating a brilliant workplace experience in our Sheffield office.

Key responsibilities

• Own the operational side of the employee lifecycle – contracts, onboarding, Right to Work, visa compliance and employee communications.
• Continuously improve People Team processes and tools.
• Act as the People Team’s representative in Sheffield, managing facilities, office services and day‑to‑day office experience.
• Plan and deliver engagement initiatives and support office events in Sheffield, London and Lincoln.
• Provide backup support to other offices and ensure smooth cross‑office operations.

• Enjoy making life easier for colleagues by spotting improvements and delivering flawless first‑day experiences.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
• Self‑starter who takes ownership, solves problems and follows tasks through with minimal direction.
• Comfortable being the visible anchor for the Sheffield office and building strong relationships.

Required skills

• Solid experience in People Operations or HR Operations, managing the full employee lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of onboarding, contracts, Right to Work checks, visas and general HR administration.
• Hands‑on experience with modern People systems – e.g., Personio, Learnerbly, Officevibe or similar HRIS tools.
• CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 (or working towards it) and a passion for process improvement.
