Personal Injury Claims Handler – Hybrid (Liverpool/Sevenoaks)

About the role

Join Acorn's Personal Injury (PI) team to manage a portfolio of motor and third‑party personal injury claims. You will work on a hybrid basis from Liverpool or Sevenoaks, handling claims from inception through to settlement while supporting less experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a personal injury claims portfolio, including third‑party, out‑of‑jurisdiction, property damage, credit hire and accident damage.
• Validate claims for indemnity and fraud, assess liability and quantify losses using company tools.
• Apply accurate reserves in line with guidelines and minimise indemnity spend through commercial decision‑making.
• Provide technical support, coaching and mentorship to junior claims handlers.
• Maintain effective file and portfolio management and complete ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Strong organisational ability and capacity to prioritise a high‑volume workload.
• Proven experience handling injury claims beyond low‑value portals.
• Knowledge of civil procedure rules, offers, acceptances and litigation risks.
• Ability to work in an open, trustworthy and respectful culture.
