Personal Secretary – Mental Health Services

About the role
The NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a Personal Secretary to provide confidential administrative support to the Mental Health Services directorate at Ayrshire Central Hospital. This permanent position offers the chance to work within a caring, safe and respectful NHS environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive secretarial support to the directorate, including handling correspondence and phone calls.
- Manage electronic diaries, schedule appointments and organise meetings.
- Prepare minutes, transcribe notes and distribute them promptly.
- Maintain electronic filing systems and ensure accurate record keeping.
- Produce documents and presentations using Microsoft Office applications.
Required profile
- Education to O Grade/Standard Grade Credit or National 5 in English and Maths.
- SVQ Level III in Business Administration or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Recognised IT qualification or proven competence with Microsoft Office.
- Advanced keyboard skills and proven minute‑taking experience.
- Ability to work unsupervised, maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR.
- Experience in an NHS setting is desirable.
