Personal Tax Manager – Remote or Hybrid

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to shape and deliver our private‑client tax offering. Working closely with Client Managers, you will provide clear, practical and proactive advice to individuals and rural business owners, helping them understand their tax position and optimise their affairs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the firm’s private‑client tax service, ensuring advice is tailored to personal and business circumstances.
• Identify planning opportunities in collaboration with Client Managers and deliver advisory projects.
• Review and sign‑off self‑assessment tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide advice across income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and related areas.
• Support clients with agricultural and rural business structures, property and asset planning, Scottish partnerships, LBTT and succession planning.
• Lead complex advisory work such as incorporation of farming partnerships and broader restructuring projects.
• Act as the go‑to technical specialist for private‑client tax matters and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in personal tax advisory and compliance within a UK accountancy environment.
• Strong understanding of rural and agricultural business tax issues.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex tax concepts in plain language.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across a remote, hybrid or onsite setting.
