About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead the pharmacy service at Berkshire Independent Hospital in Reading. You will be responsible for both operational and clinical leadership, ensuring safe, effective, and patient‑centred medicines management across the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational and professional leadership for the pharmacy department.
• Lead, develop and support the pharmacy team to deliver outstanding patient care.
• Drive quality‑improvement and medicines optimisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with consultants, nurses and multidisciplinary colleagues to shape medicines management.
• Oversee the new purpose‑built pharmacy facilities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist with substantial experience in a hospital setting.
• Proven leadership and team‑development abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with senior clinical leaders.
