Pipefitter / Welder – Stainless Steel Fabrication

About the role

We are partnering with a leading engineering and technical services organisation to recruit an experienced Pipefitter/Welder for a full‑time permanent position in Southampton. The role is primarily site‑based with additional workshop duties, supporting a variety of commercial and industrial engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, install and modify stainless‑steel pipework systems for diverse engineering projects.
• Perform TIG welding and mechanical fabrication to the highest quality standards.
• Diagnose installation issues, carry out repairs or modifications to meet customer specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and isometric diagrams to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
• Support equipment testing and commissioning to verify safe and efficient operation.
• Collaborate with hire, service, sales and operations teams to deliver projects on schedule.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a pipefitter, TIG welder or mechanical fabricator working with stainless‑steel pipe systems.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometric diagrams and technical specifications.
• Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills, capable of working independently or within a team.
