Plant Engineer – Sheffield

About the role

We are looking for a Plant Engineer to take overall responsibility for the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of plant hire equipment across our Sheffield region. You will ensure all work meets Speedy’s safety standards and supports our ESG strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, test and repair a wide range of plant hire equipment.
• Maintain equipment to the highest safety and performance standards.
• Work closely with depot engineers, drivers and the hire desk to prioritise maintenance tasks.
• Document work performed and ensure compliance with company procedures.

Required profile

• Proven ability to test and repair plant equipment, preferably within the hire industry.
• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Technical or engineering background is desirable.
• Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to support ESG initiatives.
