Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic – £33k-£40k

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Plant Fitter/Mechanic to join one of the UK’s largest independent equipment hire companies. Based in our busy workshop in Epping, you will ensure a wide range of construction plant is safe, reliable and ready for hire.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair excavators, dumpers, rollers, compressors, pressure washers and other hire equipment.
• Carry out fault‑finding and diagnostic checks to identify and resolve issues quickly.
• Ensure all machinery complies with health and safety standards before returning to the fleet.
• Maintain accurate service records and liaise with the operations team.

Required profile

• Previous mechanical experience in plant, HGV, agricultural or automotive sectors.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Hands‑on, proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
