About the role
The Policy and Equalities Officer will support the delivery of a range of policy, strategy and equalities projects that align with Haringey Council's corporate priorities. Working across services, you will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and with strong resident engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development of policy and strategy to address social, economic and environmental challenges using data, research and evidence.
- Assist with reviewing Cabinet and committee reports and produce Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs).
- Embed equalities considerations across council activities and public participation initiatives.
- Use data and insight to inform policy design, evaluate outcomes and promote consistent policy‑making approaches.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, external partners and internal teams to deliver high‑quality briefings, reports and policy papers.
Required profile
- Experience in policy development, strategy formulation or equalities work within a public sector setting.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret data, research and evidence.
- Proven capability to work across multiple services and engage with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication skills for producing briefings, reports and policy documents.
