Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) – Banbury

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson in Banbury, delivering letters and parcels to your local community. You will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and represent the trusted face of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and provide friendly service.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle a high volume of mail, parcels, and special items such as exam results and birthday cards.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit for long walks (up to 12 miles), climbing stairs or hills, and lifting/ carrying mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
