Practice Accountant – South Liverpool

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join a well‑established accountancy practice serving owner‑managed businesses across Liverpool and the North West. You will act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, delivering proactive compliance and support services.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for an assigned client portfolio.
• Manage client onboarding and ongoing communication.
• Prepare and file year‑end accounts and quarterly VAT returns.
• Handle self‑assessment tax returns and CIS returns.
• Address ad‑hoc client inquiries promptly.
• Oversee workflow and mentor junior team members.
• Perform general office duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification at minimum; ACCA or ACA preferred.
• Qualified by experience will also be considered.
