Practice Manager – Private Client Tax

About the role

Fusion Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead the back‑office operations of its Private Client Tax division. The role will oversee AML, KYC and risk assessment processes while supporting a diverse client base that includes expats, high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs and trusts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end AML process, including electronic ID verification, KYC and risk assessments.
• Handle client information requests, scan and file documents, and ensure accurate record‑keeping in client folders.
• Update and maintain the IRIS system with client data and support tickets.
• Answer inbound calls, route them to appropriate tax or accounting staff, and act as a secondary contact during absences.
• Take minutes in departmental meetings, manage tasks and ensure effective communication between accounting and taxation teams.
• Oversee tax administration, including preparing and sending tax return information, monitoring a three‑day turnaround, and filing returns with HMRC.
• Assist with new client onboarding, complete HMRC forms, and maintain correspondence files.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of tax administration experience within a UK practice.
• Previous experience managing AML procedures.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Team‑player with a flexible, can‑do attitude.
