About the role
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Crewe. The role is full‑time and long‑term temporary, supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as they develop essential skills through play and structured activities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering high‑quality EYFS learning activities.
- Support day‑to‑day care and development of children in the nursery.
- Encourage learning through play and structured activities.
- Promote children’s social, emotional and physical development.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment.
- Observe and record children’s progress where required.
- Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
Required profile
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/EYFS (essential).
- Previous experience in a nursery or Early Years setting.
- Warm, patient and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

- Knowledge of EYFS curriculum.
