Primary Teaching Assistant – Full‑time Year 5

About the role

Join a thriving Church of England junior school in Cheltenham as a full‑time Teaching Assistant, primarily supporting Year 5 pupils. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCo to deliver structured, compassionate support for all learners, including a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering daily lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Provide targeted support for a pupil with ASD and ADHD, using visual prompts and positive behaviour strategies.
• Break learning tasks into manageable steps and help children follow routines.
• Respond sensitively to sensory needs and support emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with fellow TAs, teachers, and external agencies to ensure consistent support.

• Flexible, patient and proactive in addressing individual needs.
• Experience working with primary‑aged children and special educational needs.
