Principal Network Platform Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Principal Network Platform Engineer to lead technical strategy and delivery for its Vocalink International business. The role combines deep network expertise with hands‑on implementation, automation, and people leadership across live and test environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior‑level (3rd/4th line) engineering support, design authority and technical leadership across network platforms.
• Own and deliver complex network initiatives ensuring security, resilience, scalability and an automation‑first approach.
• Act as the final escalation point for incidents, architectural challenges and cross‑domain issues.
• Drive engineering excellence by enforcing build standards, configuration templates and operational best practices.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code, designing and evolving automation frameworks, delivery pipelines and reusable patterns using Ansible, Python, AS3, Terraform and modern CI/CD tools.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual toil and improve reliability.
• Mentor and coach network engineers, fostering knowledge sharing, peer reviews and technical forums.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior network platform engineering and delivery.
• Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into automated, resilient network solutions.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of coaching and developing engineering teams.
• Experience working in both live and test environments within a large enterprise.
