Principal Process Development Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Process Development Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of fabrication processes for MicroLED and Optical Computing devices. The role combines hands‑on clean‑room work with data analysis, planning and presenting insights to management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimisation of fabrication processes for MicroLED and Optical Computing devices.
• Define process architecture, develop process modules and work with tool owners to improve pixel performance.
• Identify and implement innovation opportunities across products and processes.
• Participate in risk assessments and design reviews.
• Specify requirements for new tooling and align process recipes with tool owners.
• Drive progress within a high‑performing R&D team.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science or a related field covering III‑V semiconductor devices.
• 3+ years of process development experience in semiconductor, display or related high‑tech industries.
• Expert knowledge of MicroLED, photonics or optical computing technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with III‑V (ideally III‑N) semiconductor device fabrication in a clean‑room environment.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and a broad range of process techniques.

• Lithography (stepper, mask aligner).
• Etching (RIE, ICP, wet etch).
• CVD, PVD, evaporation, ALD, IBD.
• Design of Experiments and statistical analysis.
• LED performance measurement (IV response, electroluminescence, EQE).
• CAM systems and statistical process control (SPC).
