Prison Security Escort – Temporary (Bristol)

About the role

As a Prison Security Escort you will work alongside the prison service, supporting the client responsible for building maintenance. You will be part of a security team that escorts and oversees contractors such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians while they carry out maintenance work inside HMP Bristol.

Key responsibilities

• Check the identification of contractors before they enter the prison.
• Ensure contractors have been briefed on security measures.
• Book contractors in and out of the facility.
• Create and manage a tool list for each contractor.
• Escort contractors to their designated work areas and stay with them at all times.
• Oversee contractors while they work, confirming tools are accounted for before they leave the area.
• Use the radio to request permission for contractor movements within the prison.
• Maintain accurate records of contractor activities and tool inventories.

Required profile

• Good communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Safety‑conscious attitude.
• Residency in the UK for at least three years.
• Ability to pass security vetting, including references, police checks and photo ID.
