Procurement and Vendor Oversight Officer

About the role

Join LGPS Central Ltd at a pivotal moment to support strategic procurement and vendor oversight across one of the UK’s leading public‑sector pension pooling organisations. Working closely with the Procurement and Vendor Oversight Manager, you will gain hands‑on experience in sourcing, contract management and supplier governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies, draft tender documentation, evaluate bids and manage onboarding in line with the Procurement Act 2023 and internal policy.
• Maintain procurement artefacts such as Invitation to Tender (ITTs), evaluation templates and contract registers.
• Liaise with internal teams (Investments, Finance, Legal, etc.) to gather requirements and ensure timely, compliant delivery.
• Provide procurement best‑practice advice, training and act as deputy for the Procurement and Vendor Oversight Manager when required.
• Monitor supplier performance, support governance, risk and compliance systems, and manage supplier risk assessments.
• Lead the tender and contract management system, delivering training and support to users.
• Track service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), and contribute to periodic vendor reviews and internal governance reporting.
• Ensure all activities align with FCA, LGPS pooling requirements and internal policies, supporting audits and regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• Organised and proactive with a strong desire to develop expertise in procurement, contract management and vendor oversight.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders across finance, legal and investment functions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to governance, risk management and transparency.
