Procurement Manager

About the role

This is a full‑time, office‑based position in Bedford supporting a multidisciplinary construction services and electrical contracting business. You will shape the procurement strategy, manage supplier relationships and drive commercial value across a range of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, brokers and subcontractors to secure the best commercial outcomes.
• Negotiate pricing, contractual terms and supplier agreements.
• Analyse spend data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve efficiencies.
• Collaborate with estimating and operational teams to support accurate project pricing.
• Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost, delivery and service KPIs.
• Oversee supplier onboarding and compliance within the supplier assurance framework.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with internal procedures and ISO management systems.
• Identify procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation and system enhancements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records for audit and governance purposes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Procurement Manager, Procurement, Supply Chain or Commercial role.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Experience managing national supplier networks or broker relationships.
• Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical and cost‑management abilities.
• Experience developing or implementing procurement processes and frameworks.
• Good understanding of supplier compliance, governance and assurance requirements.
