Procurement & Sourcing Specialist

About the role

This position offers a commercial‑focused professional the chance to lead supplier sourcing and procurement activities for a fast‑growing food business. Working primarily from home, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive cost‑effective purchasing and support new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers to meet business needs.
• Build and manage long‑term supplier relationships, ensuring service, quality and cost targets are met.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures and supply contracts.
• Monitor market trends, commodity movements and supply‑chain risks to inform purchasing decisions.
• Support new product development projects through supplier sourcing and procurement expertise.
• Work cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Technical, Finance, Sales and Operations teams.
• Manage supplier performance via regular reviews of service, quality and commercial metrics.
• Produce procurement analysis, spend reports and supplier performance data.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and drive cost optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing or buying within food manufacturing or finished food products.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Confidence influencing stakeholders across multiple business functions.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for reporting and analysis.
• Experience using procurement systems or software.
