Production Cook – Food Manufacturing (Lee Mill)

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Production Cook to join a modern food manufacturing business in the Lee Mill area, near Plymouth. The role is temporary to permanent, working 37.5 hours per week on a structured weekday schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare batch‑cooked food products and large‑scale recipes according to production schedules.
• Operate commercial food production equipment such as grills, fryers, mixers and batch cookers.
• Maintain consistent product quality, portion size and presentation.
• Follow HACCP and other food safety standards, including temperature control.
• Label batches accurately and ensure product traceability.
• Monitor raw material levels, assist with stock control and weekly stock takes.
• Restock ingredients and support inventory management in the production area.
• Carry out end‑of‑shift cleaning, sanitation and hygiene procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Production Cook or similar role in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and production instructions.
• Good understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Physically fit for manual handling, including lifting heavy items.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work within a team.
