Production Team Leader – Manufacturing (Plymouth)

About the role

We are recruiting a Production Team Leader for an award‑winning manufacturer in Plymouth. You will be responsible for leading a shift team, meeting production and quality targets, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to achieve daily production, quality and efficiency goals.
• Monitor shift performance, identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and prioritise workloads, resolve issues quickly and maintain smooth handovers.
• Collaborate with other Team Leaders and departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Champion lean initiatives, waste reduction and productivity improvements using tools such as SMED and standard work.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, set objectives, provide feedback and support training plans.
• Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance with all procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Track record of meeting production, quality and performance KPIs.
• Strong problem‑solving ability using techniques such as 5 Whys or 8D.
• Hands‑on leadership style with excellent communication skills.
• Good knowledge of health & safety standards in an industrial environment.
