Production/Manufacturing Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production/Manufacturing Manager to lead multiple production departments in Swindon. You will work closely with senior leadership, driving continuous improvement, developing people and ensuring efficient manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop several production departments, coaching managers and supervisors.
• Drive performance across safety, quality, productivity, delivery and cost metrics.
• Plan labour and capacity to meet changing customer demand.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reducing waste and enhancing efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve operational challenges.
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasting and cost control.
• Monitor KPIs and implement improvement plans.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and quality standards.
• Maintain supplier and contractor relationships to support operational needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Manufacturing or Production Manager in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and deliver against demanding targets.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, labour management and budgeting.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing costs.
