About the role
Hartpury University seeks an experienced academic to lead and expand research in crop science. The role combines research leadership with teaching contributions to our growing agriculture curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of crop production research projects.
- Secure external research funding and disseminate findings.
- Deliver taught sessions and contribute to a research‑informed curriculum.
- Engage in knowledge exchange, industry partnerships, and cross‑disciplinary collaborations.
- Support institutional income generation and impact plans.
Required profile
- PhD in crop science or a closely related discipline.
- Proven record of obtaining external research funding and publishing.
- Professional recognition such as FHEA/SFHEA or commitment to achieve within one year.
- Experience in applied research leading to impactful outputs.
- Commitment to high‑quality teaching and student experience.
Required skills
- Expertise in crop science research methodologies.
- Grant writing and research funding acquisition.
- Ability to lead and coordinate research work‑streams.
