Project Engineer – Water & Process Projects

About the role

Join Trant Engineering to support the delivery of complex water and wastewater projects across the Reading and Thames Water region. The Project Engineer will assist with design, construction, commissioning and documentation, ensuring technical compliance, safety and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, reviewing and interpreting drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support to site teams during construction and installation, escalating issues to senior engineers.
• Coordinate with design engineers, consultants and subcontractors to ensure constructability and manage design changes.
• Ensure procurement aligns with the project programme and maintain accurate records of technical activities.
• Support health, safety and compliance activities, including risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks.
• Act as the technical point of contact for site teams, clients and consultants, monitoring progress and reporting deviations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Process or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).
• Understanding of UK engineering standards, codes and regulations relevant to water and process projects.
• Health & safety awareness for construction projects (SSSTS or equivalent preferred).
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer on water, municipal or industrial process projects.
• Experience providing technical support to site teams and reviewing project documentation.
