Project Estimator – Sales & Construction

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Project Estimator to join a leading UK provider of smoke ventilation systems. Based in rural Dartford, you will work within a busy estimating department, reporting to the Estimating Manager and supporting a team of four.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse tender drawings, fire strategies and specifications to define project scope.
• Quantify materials and labour, prepare precise quotations and update them as new information emerges.
• Identify technical and commercial risks and review contracts for consistency.
• Prepare schedules of rates, cost applications and finalise budgets for live projects.
• Conduct design checks, liaise with project teams and maintain strong client relationships.
• Use CRM tools to record estimates and support hand‑overs to design and project management.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Collaborative yet able to work independently.
• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
• Meticulous attention to detail when analysing tender information.
• Technical knowledge of smoke ventilation systems and relevant regulations.
• Ability to propose cost‑effective alternatives without compromising quality.
• Organised with effective workload planning and prioritisation.
• Client‑service focused attitude.
