Project Financial Controller / Project Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking a Project Financial Controller / Project Finance Business Partner to join a fast‑growing technology manufacturer in Surrey. Reporting to the Finance Director and sitting on the senior leadership team, you will oversee financial control of multiple complex programmes and help drive commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of project cost control, profitability analysis and financial performance reporting.
• Lead the monthly project reporting cycle, including variance analysis, forecasting and WIP accounting.
• Manage Work‑In‑Progress valuation, revenue recognition, cost allocation and stage‑of‑completion reporting.
• Provide financial oversight of R&D spend, capitalisation and compliance with accounting standards.
• Partner with operations, engineering and manufacturing teams on standard costing, inventory finance and margin improvement.
• Support long‑term financial planning, budgeting and resource utilisation analysis.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of three finance professionals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project finance or financial control within a manufacturing or technology environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Leadership experience managing a small finance team.
