Project Manager – Rail Engineering (Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead rail projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet budget, programme, quality and customer requirements. The role involves promoting safe working practices, efficient processes and continuous improvement within a leading engineering and manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead rail projects, overseeing budget, schedule, quality and client expectations.
• Interpret contractual requirements, coordinate resources and engage stakeholders to deliver compliant outcomes.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through quotations and tender support.
• Monitor costs and ensure compliance with company policies and UK health & safety legislation.
• Foster a high-performance culture across project teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing high- and low-voltage rail installation projects, including substations and transformer replacements.
• Experience delivering electrical works in trackside and depot environments.
• Electrical qualification of at least NVQ Level 3.
• Strong electrical background to ensure safe, high-quality installations.
• Track record of business development and client relationship building.

• Salary £55,000‑£60,000 per annum
