Project Manager / Scrum Master

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager / Scrum Master to join StackHPC’s engineering team. The role will support delivery of client and internal R&D projects, ensuring clear visibility of scope, effort, budget and risks while fostering Agile practices. The position is based in Bristol with hybrid working options for candidates in the UK, Poland or France.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of IT projects, aligning with business goals and monitoring scope, effort, budget and milestones.
• Identify and communicate risks early, conduct post‑project evaluations and drive continuous improvement.
• Support internal R&D and product backlog refinement, ensuring clear project plans and expectations.
• Assist client support by triaging requests, tracking issues and leading regular support reviews.
• Facilitate team planning, daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement and retrospectives, guiding the team on Agile, Scrum and Kanban practices.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and communication abilities with an interest in software development.
• Experience working in Agile environments and managing technical projects.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and stakeholder expectations in a fast‑moving research computing environment.
• Willingness to learn new methodologies and collaborate with distributed teams.
